design philosophy
I believe design is more than art or process. I believe true design combines art with process. It creates a deliberate arrangement of elements for a specific effect and a specific purpose. It conveys a message. It's practical art that is meant to be used.

case study: a contemporary update

To create a more updated, contemporary piece, a closeup photo simplifies the view and lets the viewer see the more detail. The upward angle draws the viewer in. The bright, daytime sky adds cool, crisp color, deepened to add additional contrast and drama. Subtle haloing gently enhances the focus on the central image. The logo and title are emphasized by isolating them on white. Finally, a white border further enhances focus on the central image while providing a visual structure that ties the text together.
The resultant piece is strong, clean, and contemporary.
